Because I'm a sucker for a good prophecy type plot I was lurking on site thought of ways to apply all kinds of plots here on BoP.
My idea is a mixture of Game of Thrones because I'm reading that now ^.^
so in GoT summers last for years and same for winters, some people live and die in the darkness of winter.
Perhaps through some cat abusing the warrior code, all the fighting and prey-stealing StarClan finally had enough and removed green leaf and new leaf all from the equation.
So now the cats are struggling with a constant leafbare and leaf fall cycle and it's because clear very quickly that because of the strain put on the valley less and less prey is coming even in the smallest amounts during a normal leaf bare. because of this tensions run higher and cats are dying quickly, (npcs deaths if need be) and while the leaders are learning the StarClan is silent, medicine cats are given a final choice at a kind of bomb is being set up.
StarClan as punishment as sent forth a storm that is traveling fast and if two full moons past without the Clans getting along it will reek havoc and devour everything in it's path and soon enough there won't be any Clans left.

Falcon and Owls tear each other apart
Hawks and Eagles fly against each other
Ravens and Vultures are barely flying together.
In Two moons Times A storm will come
If the Code is not Honored
It will tear the feather from the birds
And leave them broken for the Other's taking
The Others are Wolves, Bobcats and/or Twolegs
That is a rough one and open to reconstruction at any time.
