APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY
Image: Correct Picture Here
Looks in Detail: Height has always been an advantage no matter the situation and Narrowleap carries himself well. Towering over most cats he doesn't have the broad shoulders to make him any more powerful with his added height. Quite agile and limber, in his younger years he was known for his feats of amazing jumps from tree branch to tree branch which later gave him his name. Narrow through out his features, this black tom-cat rarely carries an ounce of fat on him and often times willingly skips meals much to his friend's concern. To match his body, Narrowleap has a thin tail that when he is annoyed lashes out to those that irritate him. One of the most striking features aside from his lack of density are his plae blue eyes that seem to be almost silver. When fixed with his silver gaze it is hard not fear that he might in fact claw your face off. In fact despite being what some call a talking tree branch, Narrowleap is quite the clever fighter if needed. He works best when backed into a corner or on a the defence since his rank doesn't call for battle training, but don't underestimate him he'll give you a few good scratches and he isn't afraid to fight 'dirty'.
Personality: Logical to the point that making friends is difficult, Narrowleap is not an easy cat to get along with and most try to avoid him. That alone has made him anti-social to the point he doesn't seek out personal interactions and his social graces are almost null and void. Narrowleap finds it difficult and mentally taxing to try and empathize with other cats and in most situations avoid it at all cost. He prefers to do his duty as a medicine cat which normally means treat an infected wound or see to a elder is getting the care they need but beyond that he doesn't do much. If he isn't tending to his work he is doing his 'other work' which is trying to perfect healing methods. He treats it like a game and enjoys trying to figure out the puzzles that are illnesses. He has never directly gotten a cat sick by any means but he does like to study a sick cat more than most. Narrowleap doesn't shy away from dead thing that weren't meant to be meals and often takes apart his own meals to try and understand what is going on much to the disgust of Clan mates.
With beyond average intelligence, Narrowleap has lost all faith in StarClan and believes it nothing but mass hysteria. This lack of faith has made it difficult for him to understand or see the point in prophecy. He has studied lost of things and grown to understand the workings of life around him. When the prey runshorts it isn't because StarClan is angry with them but that the prey couldn't get enough food for themselves. Having noticed these eventing occurring around him are made easier to notice because he try to 'see' everything. Observant and a strong appreciation to detail has made Narrowleap careful in his life, when he notices a shortage in prey-food he will try to get his Clan-mates to ease up on hunting but most of the time they ignore him and choose not to see what is in front of them which can sometimes result in empty bellies or sick cats, but he doesn't stop trying. He is difficult and far too clever for his own good but he does try to do what is right to protect OwlClan, its not his fault everyone else lacks the brain power of a mouse to see that, only so much he can do.
HISTORY & RP SAMPLE
History: Born to Gentlestep and Whiteshadow, Narrowkit was the second son born to the two of two litters. His elder brother a bulkier tom of a dark russet color was known as Lionpaw at the time of his birth and while the two interacted a lot it rarely out of desire but at their parent's request. Narrowkit flourished in his mother's care and rejoiced in his father's indulgences, he was quickly given what he wanted and what he wanted was knowledge. Even at an early age Narrowkit wante to know more about the world, he spoke often with the elder until they ran out of stories, he visited apprentices and even talk to his elder brother for a little while until he was chased off for being annoying. It wasn't until his nose caught the scent of herbs did he find a whole new world of knowledge.
Hollyrain was a sweet and soft spoken she-cat that held the rank of medicine cat at the time that Narrowkit grew very interested in the knowledge to be found. He'd follow her around and ask her questions all day it was both a happy moment for the she-cat that a cat had found her that enjoyed helping others or so she thought. Narrowkit became the medicine cat apprentice on this sixth moon and started training right away. Hollyrain at first wanted for him to go and see if he had a connection with StarClan but he knew in his heart that they weren't real. He pretended to have a dream from dead cats and told Hollyrain that former deputy of OwlClan had talked to him, it was easy to lie to her because he knew so much about the Clan's history from his early days pestering elders. It was clear that Hollyrain expected Narrowpaw to be nurturing like herself but what he cared about was what he could learn. Narrowpaw asked her an endless amount of questions and some she didn't know the answer to, when a sick cat came around he'd pester them for knowledge about how they felt so he could better understand what was making them sick. This went on for most of training and Hollyrain quickly grew tired of her apprentice but kept up with his training but it became clear that since he didn't care for his own nest-side manner and only cared about the 'work' that they relationship would never be a strong bond like more medicine cats have.
It was normal for medicine cat apprentices to spend a lot of time in camp and rarely go out unless there was an emergency or battle raging but even then they'd remain in camp and their mentor go instead, but this was different. Hollyrain was trying to deal with the flood of sick cats in her den during one terrible leaf-bare and it didn't help that a border fight and quickly grown into a raid. Narrowpaw was one of the few not sick and needed to help fallen warriors closer to the fighting. He was told by the leader to remain in camp and wait for their signal but Narrowpaw had a habit of not doing as he was told. Gathering up a bit easy to carry herbs the black tom cat bolted out of camp and followed the sounds of fighting. He was greeted with powerful sight and still wakes him from his dreams. One warrior from OwlClan lay with large gashes along her sides another was limping heavily from what Narrowpaw could guess as a dislocated leg. Assessing the situation quickly he hurried over to the bleeding cat and yowled out for the one limping to come over to him. It wasn't going to be easy but he worked quickly the raid still going on a few fox-lengths away. His heart hammered in his chest and his ears were buzzing with the thrill of helping in such a risky situation. He managed to stop the bleeding and give a small dose of poppy to the other injured cat just enough to help them limp back to camp without falling over in pain. Narrowpaw was so caught up in his work that he didn't see a enemy cat come up to him with a dark snarl. His pale eyes flashed up and a feeling of dread filled him. The enemy was older and from the scrawny and pale look to his face and nose it was clear that the cat was ill and really shouldn't be taking part in a raid but Narrowpaw wasn't really given the time to ask why they were out. He asked for the safe passage of his injured clanmates and he'd replace them as a hostage or replace them as apart of the death toll. The sick cat across from him laughed and teased Narrowpaw, mocking him for being too smart for his own good, when what seemed to be out of no where a flash of golden fur caught the neck of the sick cat with a powerful yowl and brought the cat down without much of a fight. Narrowpaw was amazed when he noticed that it was a clanmate, Sunheart. The enemy cat was dead and while it wasn't very honourable to kill a cat, Narrowpaw didn't utter a word about what happened and the two injured cats were in and out of awareness and couldn't really remember much. From that moment on Narrowpaw and Sunheart became the closest friends anyone could see.
They knew very little about each other but Narrowpaw knew that some times ago with Sunhaert was a younger warrior he went to fight a huge battle to reclaim some territory, it resulted in Sunheart taking a terrible string of claw attacks to his left shoulder that resulted in nerve damage and often times he limps in the cold morning but is always eager to follow Narrowpaw on an adventure. Time past and Narropaw was nearing the end of his apprenticeship which should have happened long ago but Hollyrain felt he wasn't ready to take on such a role and kept putting it off. In a fit of annoyance Narrowpaw went off alone much to Sunheart's annoyance who attempted to follow him but lost sight of him. Narrowpaw climbed up a tree to get away from it for awhile but was smart to remain on a few of the lower branches. Sunheart was searching for him, it had become clear in the course of their friendship that it had grown from something simple to something complex. It wasn't directly against the rules but it was clear the Narrowpaw and Sunheart loved each other and while Narrowpaw was difficult to get along with he made an exception with Sunheart and that was the only cat ever to gain any leverage into Narrowpaw's heart. Which lead up to how he gained his medicine cat name. It was during that day when Narrowpaw had taken off and Sunheart was looking for him that danger caught his attention. A small yearling fox was in the area while Narrowpaw didn't notice right away he caught sight of the orange pelt just as Sunheart came within view on the opposite side of tree where Narrowpaw had climbed and was hiding in. He was stuck with a hard choice yowl out of Sunheart and alert the fox to go after Sunheart or risk his own life and jump down on the fox, he was a medicine cat and while he did get training it wasn't near enough to take on the fox alone. The heartbeats marked the seconds and how little time he had left, he made his choice quickly and it changed their lives forever. With a great leap down, Narrowpaw had managed to land on the fox and as a result let out a yowl that alerted Sunheart at the same time. The fox fought and tore into Narrowpaw but he was able to avoid most of the attacks and barely escaped with a few lost tuffs of fur and a couple bite marks but nothing major. Sunheart was there in a heart beat and while it would have been a challenge to take the fox out on his own, the yearling ran away figuring that it was more important to live than risk a fight with two cats. It was there in the aftermath of Narrowpaw's daring leap did he learn just how important he is to Sunheart and the two made a vow not to cause each other pain and to also help each other no matter what happened.
A half moon later Narrowpaw became Narrowleap as Hollyrain retired elder's den, she was quite old and that following leafbare past away in her sleep, leaving Narrowleap the sole healer for OwlClan a task he was willing to take.
