THE HISTORY OF THE CLANS
A long time ago, hundreds of cats were brought together by birds of prey: an Eagle, a Falcon, a Raven, a Hawk, an Owl, and a Vulture.
The cats met up where different territories created a point at the middle. The five territories consisted of mountains to the east, where the Hawks landed. Moorlands to the north, where the Eagles swooped down into the grass. Swamplands to the south, where the Ravens hopped around. Swampy Pinewoods to the south-west where the Falcons winged through the trees. Tall oak forests in the west, where the Owls alighted on branches. And where the swamplands and the mountain side meet on the south-east, the Vultures scavenged for a home. When these cats came together, their ancestors fell from the stars above and spoke words of wise.
"Six clans. Clans of cats formed from the Birds of Prey shall rise and live in peace and harmony. Cats will take care of each other and raise young together. This is your destiny." The star laid cats spoke. They selected six different cats.
Eagle, Falcon, Raven, Hawk, Owl and Vulture.
These six cats would become leaders of their new clans:
Eaglestar of Eagleclan. These cats live in the wide, open spaces of the grass moorlands. They are thin, quick and agile, fast runners and nimble fighters. They hunt rabbits, thrush, field mice, and at times, birds. They are proud, respectful and gentle cats that accept any other cats or Clan. They are not against fighting, but prefer to settle things in a calm and prideful manner. Eagleclan cats are usually good fighters and hunters. They also live by a rather large river and have learned to swim and in some cases hunt fish. They love to line their nests with duck and goose feathers that the birds leave behind. The cats are very friendly and family is a big part of the clan.
Falconstar of Falconclan. Falconclan cats live in the swampy-pine forests and are usually very large and muscular as not only do they trudge through thick mud, but they also climb the slick pine trees. They are quick and witty, and most of the time enjoy making mischief. They hunt prey similar to RavenClan's diet, but also eat the squirrels and chipmunks that live in the trees. These cats enjoy showing off, being prideful, and are known to have inflated egos of themselves. They often fight with each other since they have such large egos.
Hawkstar of Hawkclan. These cats are large and have large, flat paws that help them jump along the mountain sides. They love having races to see who can climb the fastest or who can jump the farthest. They are playful and friendly, and usually very bright. They enjoy hunting among the mountain tops where the hawks and eagles hunt for mice or hares among the rocks. Although they are fun-loving and caring cats, they are fierce warriors and fighters with having extreme jumping and sturdy body abilities. They have to share their territory unwillingly with bobcats and wolves that live among the mountain range.
Owlstar of Owlclan. These cats live in the tall and beautiful oak forest. They are swift, agile, and proud. They enjoy hunting at night under the moon with their large eyes that mimic owls. They have even learned how to hunt as owls do. They are mostly nocturnal cats with how they act, enjoying doing everything by the light of the moon rather than the sun. They are fun and happy cats that enjoy talking and gossiping. They have learned to scale the large trees that branch out far up at the top, making them strong and quick. They hunt mice, rabbits, and squirrel. They refuse to hunt birds as they have believed the Owl sacred. After all, they learned to hunt by watching it.
Ravenstar of Ravenclan. These dark-hearted cats live in the murky swamplands, and are dark in color to blend in with the swamps, small but quick and stealthy. They hunt swamp rats, frogs and insects. If they are lucky, they get what wanders into the swamps. They are skilled at hiding in the swamp and ambushing large birds who swoop down to grab frogs. They are pretty egotistical and believe that they are the best Clan out of all of the Clans and that they can do no wrong. They enjoy provoking other cats and have no problem fighting and shedding blood. The more scars the better you are.
Vulturestar of Vultureclan. These cats lived in the mix of swampy-mountain mixed territories. They hunted scrawny frogs and rats, mostly found around the Twoleg place that was a bit out of their territory reach. They were jealous cats, angry and bitter. They hated the other Clans for having more luxurious territories than them. They were even forced to eat carrion when they were short on prey. They were dark-hearted and cold, constantly fighting with each other and at some points killing Clanmates over food. These cats did not live a good live but they would take no help from the other Clans. They did have some pride in themselves. They were dangerous fighters and almost always fought to the death, to prove that they were better than those whom they fought.
A prophecy was given to the leaders of the Clans: "One of six will fail, one of six will turn, and one of six will kill. Drive this death from the Birds of Prey to survive."
Vulturestar launched an attack, finally tired of how his Clan's disposition. Vultureclan had the most cats of all the clans, in spite how they killed each other and died of diseases or loss of prey. He was a powerful and dangerous leader, followed because he would kill any Clan member without a second thought. The Clans fought back and in the end prevailed, but not without losses. Owlstar lost her life at the claws of Vulturestar, and Falconstar was left crippled, losing the use of his hind legs. Many cats' lives were taken, in both Vultureclan and the other clans. Vultureclan was driven out, never be head from again.
So it seemed.
The Vultures. Vulturestar didn't survive long out in the Twoleg place and eventually VultureClan split up. The cats went their separate ways, but only became more violent and dangerous as time went on. A certain cat rose to the top of the violent cats on the streets. Her name was Buzzard, a descendant of Vulturestar, and she created a band of villainous cats under the name of The Vultures, in memory of Vulturestar and his Clan. These cats are angry, fierce, and dangerous, made up of loners, rogues, and even kittypets. They love blood and destruction. Some Vultures still believe in StarClan if their ancestors were Vultureclan cats, but others have no care.Welcome to the Birds of Prey.
